Some time ago, I posted a video featuring the amazing, charitable work of Enchanted Makeovers, an organization that’s changing the lives of homeless women and children through it’s message of kindness and hope.
Founder, Terry Grahl wants you to know that, “Since 2007, Enchanted Makeovers’ mission has been to transform homeless shelters for women and children into places that inspire behavioral and psychological change. Through it’s various projects, mentoring programs and makeovers of the physical space, women and children are introduced to a way of thinking that helps to shift their outlook about their lives and possibilities for the future. The shelter is transformed into a “beacon of hope”. Mentoring programs such as the“Sacred Sewing Room”, “Stepping into the Dream”and “Capes for Kids” develop important life and coping skills.”
This was Enchanted Makeover’s 2nd annual She is me gala, in honor of women who are transitioning in shelters, and preparing for their new lives. It was a beautiful and fun filled night of re-connecting, eating, mingling and dancing. I’m already looking forward to next years mission.
Most of the day was spent beautifying the women, and getting them all glammed up for the evening dinner. I was extermely honored to work alongside the beautiful, Vanessa Coppess, Marketing Director for Bella NYC Magazine, and founder of the CHICA movement, Vcoppes.com and Env Jewelry Vanessa Coppes. Also on the beauty team was the amazing and equally beautiful Jennifer Tuma-Young, speaker, and author of Balancing your life, balancing the scale.
I didn’t show any pictures of the women from the shelter, since I did not have their prior permission. You can however, view pictures at Vanessa’s website. Trust me when I tell you they were all looked beautiful and had a wonderful time.

I do however, have to feature my friend, and interior designer, Desann Collins who is absolutely beautiful and amazing, and as you can see tres stylish and chic. She captured my attention last year during the first event, and we hit it off instantly. I know, you can’t take your eyes off her fabulous fascinator; I couldn’t either. You won’t find any like it in the stores either, because it’s one of a kind, hand made and designed by her mother. Isn’t it awesome? Soon i’ll be wearing my own. Can’t wait. She completed her fabulous look with a beautiful leather and cotton dress. And though she kicked off her hells for more comfortable flats, she still rocked it. It takes a certain kind of woman to pull off such style. I’d love to see her on the pages of advanced style.
Desann’s mom is just as stylish, and creates one of a kind bags and hats. You’ll definitely be hearing more about their unique and stunning creations soon, and I’ll will keep you posted.
